When reading this blog, you are gonna get to know a lot about me. So here's the rundown, I am human. I live a messy, chaotic, and crazy life. But I’m also a Christian, meaning Christ lives in me; making my messy life something I can be proud of.
Let's start from the day my life began. July 21, 2004 in a hospital room...nope. I mean technically yes, but the day I truly started living. I’m talking about the day my life gained an indescribable purpose; the day I was saved. I visited my Mama’s mothers grave, My Grandma Judy. She passed away two weeks before I was born and I look forward to meeting her one day up in heaven.
My mom loved her mom so much, and on the day I got saved, we were going to visit her grave. We brought some new flowers with us, and decided to stay for a while after putting up the display. My mom shared her favorite memories and talked about the humbling life my Grandmother lived, and how she was now with Jesus. After hearing this, I had so many questions, “Would I ever get to meet her, How can I meet her, and Where I can meet her?” I remember replaying these questions over and over again on the way home. Later on, once home, I realized I needed answers. Not only just to my previous questions, but also how I could be with Jesus too. I asked my mom, who was near tears as I told her my questions. She took me upstairs and we sat on the couch in her office room. I remember the excitement I felt as my mom helped lead me to Christ, and the joy on both of our faces. This day was a new start. A clean slate, that had all my old sins washed away by the blood of Jesus Christ. From that day on, I promised to live my life for Christ and it will be forever known as the turning point of my life.
Since this moment and decision, I’ve learned my choices everyday affect my relationship with God. Growing up, to this point, I had to choose how I would live, dress, act, the words I say, what I listen to, and who I listen to. All of these factors have played a huge role into who I am today and the person I want to be.
love,
Merc
