Senioritis- noun
a supposed affliction of students in their final year of high school or college, characterized by a decline in motivation or performance.
Oh Boy is this real. Never have I had such conflicting feelings over school. I’m stuck in between soaking in every last moment and getting things over with. I will miss it all, even the all-nighters and hard mornings. School seems to be hanging on my shoulders as a constant reminder, the year is ending. All of the big projects, senior stuff, and assignments are all coming to an end. I just have to push through these next few weeks, and remember this is temporary and I won’t get this back.
Just like school, life is temporary. I know this from 2 Corinthians 4:18, “While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.” Life is temporary and as we’ve experienced this in our senior year, it goes by fast! So even during the hard days, where you just can’t wait to be out of high school, remember, you won’t get this back. After high school, each day matters just the same. We never know when we will leave this earth. This past September, I lost my Pawpaw. While I knew his time was short, it didn’t feel real, and honestly it still doesn't. But this has reminded me that life is short. I made it my goal to live this year on purpose with the reminder to embrace even this. I will be embracing every high and low. Every late night and hard assignment, because I know one day I will miss this.
Praying for all my seniors, we will get through this and beyond. To all the juniors, enjoy it!
love,
Merc
