For Such a Time as This

The country of American is greatly divided. The media is portraying only the evil in this world, leaving many people hopeless and lost. Instead of falling into this political trap, I’ve decided to cast my hope into the Savior.

If I think about all the childhood Bible stories I listened to growing up, I remember David and Goliath always being one of my favorites. David was a young boy who was placed in a situation most people would run from. But instead he rose up to the challenge against a giant, with only a handful of pebbles and a slingshot. If you've ever heard of this story, you know David wins because of his faith in God. While I’m sure he never planned to battle a giant within his lifetime, David showed that faith in the midst of our greatest trails can out stand the fear trying to overtake.

You never know what God has planned for you. With our country falling to pieces, it’s easy to become discouraged in the mess sin has made, and begin to feel helpless. But I’m gonna choose to be like David. People need to see God in this mess. They need to know there is hope, love, joy, peace, all found in Christ. Christians need to be reminded that God is working and moving still! You can be used for such a time as this.
