Safe. The google definition for safe is “to be cautious and unenterprising.” Don't get me wrong it’s good to be safe and in most cases I’d say it's better to be safe than sorry, (Yes mom, I always wear my seat belt and I look both ways before crossing the road.) But I think choosing to play it safe, is not how we, as Christians, are called to live.

Joshua 1:9 says “We are called to be bold.” This is the total opposite of the word safe. God has called us to be different and live boldly proclaiming Him. To be cautious means to live carefully to avoid potential problems or dangers. God never promised this life would be easy, or painless, but He is the ultimate healer and He will protect you day and night. If you were to ask me my definition of save, I’d say safe is just another word for regret. I wanna go all in for God, giving everything I am to Him.

Life is too short to wait to start living. There’s a difference between living life and truly living for God. One will lead you down the hard roads of this world, and the other will lead you to hearing well done thy good and faithful servant. So, which is more important to you? Doing your own thing, having fun, and finding temporary happiness. Or chasing God’s will for life, which will bring you true joy.

It’s hard living for God, He didn’t say it would be easy. We live in a world where you are told to follow your heart and live happily in sin. If you choose to be out of the norm, you will be persecuted and known as a "Jesus freak."

Maybe you are a God loving Christian who is playing it safe. You go to church twice a week, pray before each meal, and love God, but the fire has gone out. You are living life at a standstill and are okay with just being comfortable in your relationship with God. The moment you choose to be bold and step out in faith for God, you are fulfilling your purpose.

You ask what your purpose is? Your purpose while on earth is simple- Love God and love others like God. We are to make Him known through everything we do. One way to do this is by using your God given talents for God. Those talents were designed by God, for God, for the purpose of making Him known. So do the “crazy” idea God has placed on your heart. Use whatever skill you have, for Him. It might feel impossible, dumb, or even unrealistic but I promise if it’s God’s will, He will make a way for it to happen. By chasing after God, and giving Him everything, you are not playing it safe, but truly living.

love,

Merc
